Young Illustrators Art

June 12, 19, 26, 2025

Ages 11+

Cost: $39

Learn the basics of creating characters for comics, games, and movies and how to bring them to life, creating your artistic legacy. Classes take place at the Kirtland Grayling location in the Art Department with Scott Rice.


Bioexplorers Camp

June 24-26, 2025

1p-3:30p

Ages 12-17

Biology is a big subject and is full of hands-on fun. Join us at Kirtland this summer to learn to use microscopes, and learn about how biology applies to forensic investigation, and DNA research. Participants will also learn about blood typing, animal behavior, dissection, human anatomy/physiology, and insects.


Crash Course in Automotive

June 24-26, 2025

9a-12p

Ages 14+

Are you ready to learn about the automotive technician world? Kirtland Automotive instructors will teach students basic under-hood inspection and maintenance skills. The brand-new auto lab at the Kirtland Grayling location is outfitted with state-of-the-art technology that will allow students to gain insight into the automotive industry. Participants will learn about tune-ups, brake repair, computer-based diagnostic, scan tools, shop safety, and electrical systems.


Junior Creative Writing

Cost: $19

Students will gain appreciation for creative writing and collaboratively compose a story for our newest Kirtland coloring book that will feature Sparky the Firebird, our mascot. Sparky will also make and appearance to inspire our writing!


Future Nurses

June 24-26, 2025

Ages 12-17

Try out your healing hands as a future nurse. Learn to care for different types of wounds, and the miraculous process of healing. Engage in many day to day nursing scenarios taking care of patients in the high tech simulation lab.


Advanced Creative Writing

June 12, 19, 26, 2025

Ages 14+

Cost: $39

This course will include a two-hour morning session, a one-hour lunch break, and a two-hour afternoon session on three days across three weeks.

In the morning sessions, students will develop a short creative writing project (short story, poem, etc.) and revise based on feedback.

They will receive resources and support to pursue publication of their project or continue developing it for their personal use. In the afternoon sessions, students will support our junior creative writers in writing a story for our newest Kirtland coloring book!

Wired For Success: Exploring Electricity

Join us for a hands-on camp where you'll learn the fundamentals of working safely with electricity while gaining practical skills used by electrical professionals.

  • Understand electrical circuits.

  • Build and test circuits--using a digital multimeter.

  • Hands-on wiring projects--Solder and wire an electrical outlet, switch, and light.

  • Industry experience--Tour Arauco to explore real-world applications and career opportunities in the electrical field.
